Trials Toils and Tears. . .

Midterm, and I weep for the stress of it all. Parent teacher sit downs, the mountain of work from the High Holidays to do, the strain of trying to parent the kids and keep it all together. . .

The dog has to get shots, the kids need hair cuts, and the refrig is empty as heck. . .what to make for supper. . .all of these concerns are driving me crazy.

But, in all of this, there are islands of tranquility, and of peace and comfort. The snuggle time at story time, the mugs of hot cocoa, the baking of cookies and breads for the week's lunches, and the beginning of the "week of meals in the freezer" experiment. . .oh, did I forget to mention that?

I found a book that had a section about freeze ahead meals. . .and we are going to try it and see what happens. . .that starts Sunday. . .

But, hugs and kisses and MORE hugs and the peace that comes from putting all work away and just being with your kids as a family. . .THESE are the things that I am fixed on. . .and it has helped a lot!
